Harry Potter: What is the Function of the Brain Room in the Ministry of Magic?
The Ministry of Magic in the Harry Potter story has a very mysterious room called the Brain Room.
Unfortunately, in the series itself it has not yet been revealed clearly what the uses of Brain Room are.
The room is located in the Department of Mysteries and had appeared in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix novels.
The Department of Mysteries itself is located on the ninth floor of the Ministry of Magic building, the organization that governs the magical world in the Harry Potter story.
The Ministry of Magic itself is located in the city of London.
The Department of Mysteries is a very secret place, and almost no one can infiltrate the place.
The Department of Mysteries itself is part of the Ministry of Magic who studies various kinds of the great mysteries of life, as the name suggests.
Inside the Department are the Hall of Prophecy, the Death Chamber, the Love Chamber, the Space Chamber, the Time Room, and of course the Brain Room.
These rooms became an important key in the Second World War of Magic.
In the Order of the Phoenix story, Lord Voldemort gives instructions to Harry and the Dumbledore's Army to go to the Department of Mysteries to get a prophecy stored there.
Arriving there it turns out that Harry and the others are attacked by Death Eaters, and forces them to split into various rooms in the department.
When they enter a room that is a Brain Room, there is a large container and inside it is filled with green liquid and white floating brain.
When Ron tries to find out what the object is, it turns out the brain can attack and hurt others.
The explanation behind the brains in the container was never given, but the existence of the container in the Department of Mysteries is indeed considered very reasonable.
Not Displayed in the Film
Just like the various other rooms in the Department of Mysteries, Brain Room itself is not shown in the film adaptation of the Order of the Phoenix, as well as various other Harry Potter films.
Although the room was eliminated in the film adaptation, the shooting of the scene that presented Brain Room was done before the WB decided to eliminate the room.
Brain Room remains one of the attractions for fans who are curious about the function of the tool or object.
This is because the Ministry of Magic has conducted various studies or research on the mind and the power of the mind.
This proves that the world of magic is very curious about abstract concepts compared to muggles.
Whether it's death, love, time, or mind, there are still many things that still need to be revealed.
It is possible if J.K. Rowling has big plans to revisit and present the Brain Room, or another room in the Department of Mysteries, in her upcoming work but then decides to change the plan.
Brain Room has a room that is directly connected to the Death Chamber, giving the signal that they are doing research on death and consciousness.
Some fans also believe that the contents contained in the container contain the brains of some wise and famous magicians, to be used as material for their research.
Some other fans think that these brains help them learn Legilimency.
Legilimency itself is a magic that is able to read someone's mind and interpret their feelings.
Until Rowling herself gives the answer to this, Brain Room will remain a mystery.
