One Piece: The 5 Best Swordsmen! (UPDATED)
With the many fighting styles presented in Eiichiro Oda's One Piece series, it seems quite surprising considering that there are so many skilled swordsmen throughout the series.
In fact, you could say almost every pirate crew must have one swordsman.
In fact, the navy and the World Government itself have sword masters.
However, even though the number of trained swordsmen or swordsmen was overwhelming, only a few of them could be considered the most powerful.
One of the reasons why they are the most powerful among the others is that these strongest swordsmen have Haki abilities.
Here are some of the strongest swordsmen throughout the One Piece series.
5. Roronoa Zoro
It had been his big dream so far.
And Zoro himself shows how he is trying to make that dream come true.
An example is always practicing in his spare time. And of course is to increase his power level.
This he had done when the time-skip occurred.
Zoro trains under the strongest swordsman in the world itself, Dracule Mihawk.
And the effect, Zoro's ability increased drastically.
Even so, his fighting experience is the most important key in increasing his sword power as happened during Zoro's fight against King.
4. Shanks
Shanks proved to be one of the strongest swordsmen in the One Piece series.
In the story itself, Shanks and Mihawk are eternal rivals where they were often involved in battles that were even able to shock the Grand Line.
However, their rivalry came to a halt when Shanks lost his arm.
Even so, Shanks was still able to use his sword well.
For example, when Shanks managed to withstand an attack from Whitebeard's Murakumogiri.
Or when he managed to withstand Sakazuki's attack during the Marineford battle.
It's still unknown to what extent Shanks' level of swordsmanship is, but he is certain to be one of the strongest.
3. Silvers Rayleigh
Rayleigh is also one of the legendary figures in the series, who is still alive today.
Rayleigh proved to be one of the most skilled swordsmen in the world.
His ability was shown in Sabaody, when he fought Kizaru.
Even though in the current story Rayleigh no longer uses his sword too often, but in Oden's flashback shown in the anime version it shows that when he was young Rayleigh did have an extraordinary ability to use a sword.
Even though he was no longer young, Rayleigh still seemed to have some remnants of his youthful abilities.
2. Kozuki Oden
The daimyo in the Ringo region were once part of the Whitebeard pirate crew.
And while being part of Whitebeard, he once showed his ability when trying to attack Gol D. Roger.
However, Roger's strength is much stronger than Oden's.
Oden also once attacked Kaido when he returned to Wano.
In fact, Oden became the only person who managed to leave a scar on Kaido's body.
Oden is a samurai known for his fighting style that uses two swords.
Not to mention that Oden is known to have a powerful Armament Haki, which makes each attack have tremendous destructive power.
1. Dracule Mihawk
Mihawk is known to be the strongest swordsman currently in the One Piece world.
The character was first introduced during the Baratie arc.
In that arc we also saw the powerful ability of Mihawk who could defeat Zoro with only a small sword.
Dracule Mihawk has become a level benchmark for Roronoa Zoro, where for Zoro Mihawk is the strongest.
And that's why Zoro must be able to defeat Mihawk, which makes fans think he will be Zoro's last enemy.
Mihawk is the only surviving swordsman shown to possess a black sword.
It proves his superiority and dominance.
Those who have sword skills seem to have their own role in the story in the One Piece series.
And as if they were part of the history that happened in One Piece, with the many swordsmen in the story.
Will another powerful swordsman emerge?
We look forward to it!
