5 One Piece Epic Moments That Fans Are Hard To Forget, One Of The Deaths Of Portgas D Ace
Throughout the One Piece series, many fans have recorded epic moments by Eiichiro Oda.
One Piece, which has been running for 25 years, has shown epic moments that are hard for fans to forget.
Even though it has penetrated 1000 chapters, many One Piece fans have repeated these epic scenes or moments.
Here are five epic moments that One Piece fans will never forget
1. Luffy Punches the Heavenly Dragon
Over the Sabaody Archipelago, the series introduces the lineup of the most despicable of villains, the Heavenly Dragon.
These are the world's political and financial elites whose lineages are related to the original founder of the World Government.
They became notorious for abusing power and enslaving ordinary people for comfort and entertainment.
After seeing these elites push the Sabaody community for so long, fans everywhere rejoiced when they saw Luffy punching back in black and white.
2. Zoro Takes Luffy's Pain
Roronoa Zoro's most iconic scene so far, however, is easily the result of his confrontation with Bartholomew Kuma.
After seeing Kuma beat his friends with ease, Zoro bravely offered to give up his life in exchange.
This move impressed Kuma who decided to test Zoro's faith by making him deal with Luffy's pain from that arc.
As a human, Zoro wouldn't take all that damage unscathed.
But when all was said and done, it was amazing to see him just stand still and walk through the event as if nothing had happened.
3. Ace's Death
The death of Portgas D. Ace is certainly one of the saddest moments in the story.
In this scene, the floodgates opened one by one after the visuals revealed the blood on Ace's back, during a heartfelt farewell, and especially after Luffy started crying.
This scene only had such impact because of how utterly shocking it was to see Ace die.
One Piece is known for closing its stories with happy endings and killing characters mostly in backstory.
Ace's Death is an anime plot twist that sees one of the few instances where Eiichiro Oda pulls out his narrative knife.
4. Going Merry Cemetery
There are many traits to One Piece that many fans want to show to try and get their friends into the series.
Many like to talk about franchise world building, others discuss series combat, and some even dissect Eiichiro Oda's quirky cartoon art style.
However, sometimes all it takes is to show that the series made its fans cry on the boat.
While the Going Merry was central to the aesthetic for the early franchise, most fans never counted him as an actual crew member prior to the Enies Lobby Arc.
No one ever really knows what's valuable until something is lost.
When the Going Merry shared its final farewell, fans everywhere cried as they recalled all the wonderful memories shared on the ship.
5. Luffy's Clash with Katakuri
When Luffy first landed on Whole Cake Island, many thought he was going to have a big fight with Big Mom herself.
Few expected his big fight with his eldest son and even fewer expected the fight to end as one of the series' most memorable fights.
A big part of that is Charlotte Katakuri debuting as one of the coolest yet terrifying villains who somehow manages to combine the silliness of jellybeans and donuts with lethal power.
While there have been many haki clashes in the previous series, none have had the same impact as the fist clash between Big Mom's vanguard and Luffy.
