One Piece: Eiichiro Oda Confirms Mihawk's Strength Level is Equal to Yonko, Here's the Proof!
Dracule Mihawk is one of the strongest characters in the One Piece manga series.
Even though he doesn't have a devil fruit ability, Mihawk's sword skills are very powerful.
In fact, Mihawk is so strong that he currently holds the title as the number one swordsman in the world.
Not only that, he was also mentioned as a rival of Shanks, one of the Yonko or the emperor of the ocean.
Both are said to be equally strong, and neither side wins or loses in every fight they fight.
However, after Shanks lost one of his arms, Mihawk was not interested in fighting him again.
Based on these facts, the question arises from One Piece fans, does Mihawk have the same strength as the Yonko?
Although until now this question has not been answered directly by Eiichiro Oda, but the mangaka provides instructions in the vivre card about the extent of Mihawk's power level.
According to the One Piece Vivre Card Databook, Dracule Mihawk himself is now waiting for someone much stronger than Shanks to appear and then defeat him.
The statement that appears in this Databook is of course very important, which means it is a confirmation that Mihawk's power level is at the same level (or maybe above) Shanks' figure.
If Mihawk's strength level is below Shanks, it seems Shanks will be able to defeat him easily and Mihawk himself will not get the title.
However, even though Mihawk's strength is considered to be on par with a Yonko, he cannot become a Yonko. There are two main reasons why Mihawk couldn't become a Yonko.
First, Mihawk lives on the island of Kuraigana which is not part of the New World territory.
And as long as he lived on the island, Mihawk never had a partner or lived alone – except for Perona.
Mihawk also has no fleet or troop or crew. The only person he always relies on is Perona, a former subordinate of Gecko Moria.
Perona has now left Kuraigana, after learning about Moria's news.
The second reason is that Mihawk has no territory or territory.
In addition to troops or crew, one of the main requirements to become a Yonko is to have territory.
As mentioned above, Mihawk lives alone in Kuraigana with Perona.
Mihawk is also not a person who likes to have territory. All he wanted was to fight.
Based on the explanation above, we can conclude that Dracule Mihawk does have the same level of strength as a Yonko.
His information also provides clues that Mihawk's strength is on par with Shanks.
Even so, there is a possibility that Zoro will be able to surpass Shanks and also defeat Mihawk, which is indeed his goal.
