One Piece: Mayumi Tanaka Wants Fans to Accept if Someone Else is Appointed to Replace Luffy's Seiyuu
Mayumi Tanaka is the voice actress (seiyuu) behind Monkey D. Luffy from the One Piece anime.
In 2019, she once bragged about raising the issue of who would replace her as Luffy's seiyuu.
This is not without reason.
Mayumi Tanaka is no longer young, where she has been 67 years old as of January 15, 2022.
Meanwhile, the One Piece series is still continuing without any clarity on when it will end.
That's why she thought that maybe One Piece would continue, even when she was no longer around.
Now Mayumi Tanaka says that she wants Luffy to be her last role during her career as a voice actress.
She said that throughout her career she had played many young male characters, and she wanted to end her career with Luffy.
And when asked if she could still voice a young male character after this, she said that she had achieved everything she wanted with the role.
Even so, with the One Piece series still unclear when it will end, she hopes that one day she will no longer be able to play Luffy, while One Piece still has a long way to go, she hopes that fans will accept whoever is appointed to replace her as Luffy's voice.
