One Piece: Oda Confirms, Luffy Is Immune to These 2 Devil Fruits!
Monkey D. Luffy is the main protagonist in Eiichiro Oda's One Piece series.
Luffy is a figure who aspires to become the king of pirates, and become the most free person in the world.
With the power of the Gomu Gomu/Nika devil fruit that he has, as well as various other abilities, Luffy has become one of the strongest characters in the series.
Oda himself has explained that devil fruit users have weaknesses.
1. Can't swim
This weakness can be overcome if the devil fruit user can fly or create frozen seas like Kuzan.
2. Seastone
Marines usually use sea stone bullets or weapons to attack devil fruit users. Logia types can be hit by sea stone weapons.
3. Haki
Actually haki is not a weakness of devil fruit users, but haki can make devil fruit users touched and penetrating power (eg logia type devil fruit) can be attacked.
4. Natural Enemy
This is what we will discuss in this article.
In this article, I will discuss about Luffy, a devil fruit user, who is immune to the enemy's two devil fruit powers.
With this, Luffy also managed to defeat his enemy.
This proves that Luffy's strength is indeed very extraordinary, apart from the advantages of the devil fruit he has.
Luffy is immune to Enel's Devil Fruit
At that time, Luffy and the Straw Hats had to face Enel and his men.
As we know, Enel is the leader of the tyrants on the island of the sky.
He ruled so ruthlessly, where he made all the inhabitants of the sky island suffer.
Enel is able to reign powerfully thanks to the power of the devil fruit, Goro Goro no Mi.
The Goro Goro no Mi devil fruit is a unique devil fruit that appears in the One Piece story.
The devil fruit can give the user an interesting power that is able to control, create, and turn himself into electricity at will.
In other words, the user has turned into an electric man.
This makes the user very difficult to harm.
Enel uses this power when he fights against his enemies, and when he punishes the inhabitants of the sky island who break the rules, making him a god/ruler figure on the sky island.
However, when facing Luffy, Enel had to accept the fact that he did not expect that his electric power did not work against Luffy at all.
This is because of Luffy's rubber strength.
Rubber itself was not a good conductor of electricity, so he was completely unharmed and affected by Enel's power.
Thus, Luffy was able to defeat Enel even though he had to face another difficulty, namely where Enel mastered Observation Haki. As a result, Luffy struggles to attack Enel.
Luffy is immune to Boa Hancock's Devil Fruit
The Mero Mero no Mi is a Paramecia type devil fruit where the user can turn a person into stone.
Mero Mero himself has the ability to attack enemies from various distances by using one of the emotions of humans, namely desire.
When someone is hit by this devil fruit ability, he will instantly turn to stone.
Usually, those who are affected by the effects of this devil fruit are someone who is infatuated or greatly admires the beauty of Hancock.
And this is what is then meant by Mero Mero's power, which is very dependent on desire or lust.
How about Luffy?
What's interesting is how Luffy is completely unaffected by this power.
There are ways to avoid the effects of this devil fruit, like vice admiral Momonga did where he hurt himself.
Or there are also other things that may very rarely happen, namely where they have absolutely no lust for Hancock's figure.
This also happened to Luffy.
When Kuma flew him to Amazon Lilly, Luffy had fallen in the room where Hancock was bathing.
He also saw Hancock's tattoo, and also the back of his body.
When the former Shichibukai was about to use his power on Luffy, it actually had no effect at all.
Why? Apart from that Luffy has no passion or passion for Hancock, as Oda said and described in the series if Luffy is a stupid figure.
He doesn't understand money, love, lust, or whatever.
All he knows and cares about is food and meat. So, it seems quite reasonable and natural that Luffy is then immune to this power.
The next question is is Luffy immune to other devil fruits?
We still have to wait for the answer in the next chapter.
