4 Electric Car Technologies That Surprise You, So Sophisticated!
Electric cars are currently being discussed by many people.
Including millennials and gen Z.
Of course this is happening because apart from currently being the target of government subsidies, it turns out that electric cars are also attractive because of their various technologies.
This technology is the concern.
Because it cannot be denied, this technology is very cool and very helpful in today's world.
What are they?
Check directly below, yes!
1. Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV)
Cars that use BEVs use electricity in the battery.
The BEV type does not have a combustion engine (ICE).
Electricity is stored in lithium-ion batteries.
Charging the battery is done by connecting to an external power grid.
BEV components consist of electric motors, inverters, batteries, control modules (controllers), and drivetrains.
2. Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV)
What's cool is that the HEV has two drive systems, namely the combustion engine (ICE) and the traction motor.
The ICE gets energy from fuel, while the traction motor gets power from the battery.
The gasoline engine and motor simultaneously rotate the transmission to drive the wheels.
The HEV battery is charged by engine rotation, wheel motion or a combination of both.
This car does not have a charging port.
So guys, the battery can't be recharged from outside the system.
HEV components consist of engine, electric motor, battery pack with controller and inverter, fuel tank, and control module (controller).
3. Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV)
PHEV is a hybrid type that has a combustion engine (ICE) and an electric traction motor.
Electric cars using PHEV technology can be powered by fossil energy sources (such as gasoline) or alternative sources (such as biodiesel) and also by batteries.
Unlike the HEV, the battery in this type of car can be recharged from an external power source.
By connecting it to an external power source, to the inlet (charging port) on the car at an electric car charging station (EVCS).
The PHEV components consist of an electric motor, engine, inverter, battery, fuel tank, control module and battery charger.
4. Autonomous driving technology
Electric cars that are currently developing self-driving cars are cars that can know the terrain and the surrounding environment and operate with little or no human touch.
This futuristic vehicle moves with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technology.
The performance of the two technologies is supported by various sensors that can make it easier for the vehicle computing system to measure road height, recognize road conditions, and connect with other smart devices.
Really cool.
